For the second consecutive year, the Palestinian Coalition Against the Death Penalty (PCADP) is holding its National Conference against the Death Penalty on Wednesday 16 December 2009 in the Best Eastern Hotel in Ramallah entitled "Towards an efficient Palestinian national strategy for the abolition of the death penalty".  

The conference will present the reality of the situation regarding the death penalty on the International, Arab and local levels, as well as the Palestinian mechanisms and strategies in place to work towards the abolition of the death penalty in Palestine. The issue of civilians being presented before military courts and the jurisdiction of the military courts will also be addressed, as most death penalty sentences are issued from these courts. Finally the conference will tackle the problem of the lack of proper legal procedures throughout the Palestinian Territory.
