The Sub-Committee on Accreditation (SCA) of the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI) elected Dr. Ammar Dweik, Director-General of the Independent Human Rights Commission as its chairman. This came during the SCA  35th session that is currently held from 14-25 March.

GANHRI, through the (SCA), is responsible for reviewing and accrediting NHRIs in compliance with the Paris Principles. It is a rigorous, peer-review process, undertaken by representatives of NHRIs from each of the four regions: Africa, Americas, Asia Pacific and Europe
