An urgent appeal to the international community, humanitarian organizations and human rights defenders around the world
An urgent appeal to the international community, humanitarian organizations
and human rights defenders around the world
Today, we are witnessing a severe exacerbation of the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. Palestinian citizens, specifically in the city of Gaza and its northern parts, are suffering from a severe shortage of food and essential supplies necessary for survival, due to the ongoing blockade by the Israeli military preventing the delivery of humanitarian aid to these areas.
About a week ago, Israel completely prevented humanitarian aid from entering the northern Gaza Strip, and the United Nations announced a complete halt to the entry of aid into the northern part of the territory. This significantly exacerbates the risk of famine, which, based on the evidence we have, we believe the citizens in the northern part of the Strip are now living through its harsh reality.
We appeal to humanitarian organizations and the United Nations to continue their humanitarian role and not to stop their activities under any circumstances. We demand that the international community and human rights defenders seriously pressure Israel to allow the entry and distribution of food and humanitarian aid to the northern Strip, alongside the main demand for a permanent ceasefire.
We also call for the implementation of the International Court of Justice's decision, especially regarding the entry of aid and the prohibition of starving the population, as this represents one form of genocide criminalized and prohibited under the Genocide Convention and international humanitarian law.
